Now i would like read / write an eprom used into CP524. The order code of Eprom is 6ES5 373 1AA41 -- prog nr = 414. Use the S5 v7.2 under win xp sp2 . I have copy com 525 (and prom 525 ) into COM525 folder. I have connect my old prommer in a parallel port lpt1. when i try to read the eprom the system is locked. Is necessary a driver for prommer ? if yes where i can find ? Anyone have a suggest for me ? Thank you

KaOst Posts: 17 Rating: (2)	It's a long time since I last touched an EPROM reader, but I think it could be something about the setting of the printer port. I also think it was done in the PC setup (during startup). There were some different settings to choose from (EPP, ECP ???), but I cannot recall which one you should use. You'll have to try the different settings and see if it comes any good out of it. Good luck! KaOst

Simaticus Bronze Member Joined: 1/30/2007 Last visit: 6/3/2022 Posts: 262 Rating: (24)	Hi capraloris, are you using Step5 V7.2 based on a system Win XP? Your Com 525 in Step5 behaves like that. I'm sorry but you will have to use a Step5 V 6.x or V 3.x (i prefer V 6.6x) in order to get Com 525 working. That means you'll need an old Win like 95 or 98 in order to get Step5 working.. Please make sure you are using Com 525 V 4.2 at least. Good luck

When i start Com525 only read : VERSION / ISSUE: B04 In case of wrong version it's possible to find or buy a correct version ? ( i think it's a very old package ) thank you

Using Step5 V 3.2 you 'll find a function key in the base menu where you select the software package you want to use. The newest version of Com 525 (V 4.3) is available at the software archive: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/24030890 God luck
