The software used is TIA portal v14 SP1 with Update 9.

The hardware is a Comfort Panel TP700.

Programming Environment is VB Script.

I have 2 unrelated questions, hope this is the right place to ask.

1) Is StartLogging necessary only if StopLogging was used?

I have read through the online help and the entry for CloseAllLogs has an application example where StartLogging is used without StopLogging. I tried to use CloseAllLogs and then OpenAllLogs and the logging continues fine, that's why i wonder if StartLogging is needed. I don't wanna run into problems later on.

At page 33 both OpenAllLogs and StartLogging are used for Archive_01 even though Logging for Archive_01 was not stopped.

2)If i use fs.FileLen on a path that doesn't exist i get the following Error Number & Description:

-2147024894 The system can not find the file specified

I couldn't figure out what's up with the number. I couldn't find how are that err.number and err.description related. Why that number?
