Hi, I have S7-1215 FW3.0 which is connected to TP700 Comfort where ALL the DBs are optimized access (with no "real" address) & I have no access to them (I can't change anything although I can see the software). I have to read some data to an other S7-1200 that I have control of.

My best shot was Using "GET" function that I can configure just on 1 side but it's just for "non optimized access" as I understand from its parameters.

Can I do it somehow ?

 I still can't see @ the manuals how to read a DB that is optimized and how to communicate without doing any changes to the basic PLC which I can't touch..

I think that the panel will not able to read data from optimized data blocks. It is the same problems as when using the latest WINCC..... it just does NOT work.

Siemens allows "symbolic access" when you declare a "SYMBOL" (in TIA portal) and a symbol can only been mapped to a non-optimized item.

The only way to get a TRUE symbolic access is to use OPC UA access to the PLC, but i think the panel won't be able to do that. OPC UA requires a paper license too.

With OPC UA you can browse PLC variables as you would expect in 2017....
