Comm between PC and CPU 319 3PN-DP via PROFINET???

phaothu Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi colleages! I'm using a CPU 319 3PN-DP (318-3EL00-0AB0) to establish a simple communication with my PC. I have read the example for configuring PROFINET network using a CPU 317 2PN-DP. This requires a SCALANCE in which a PC and a CPU 317 2PN-DP plugged. Is it the same with CPU 319 3PN-DP? I have linked directly my PC to the CPU by an ETHERNET cable which has 2 female end with 4 pins each ( pin 1 of one end connected pin 3 of the other one and vice versa, pin 2 of one end connected to pin 6 of the other one and vice versa). Power supply had been switched on before. However, nothing happened. The symptoms are: the DC 5V on the CPU was ON, the STOP Led blinked every approx 2 seconds and my PC reported: 'network cable is unplugged'. I noticed that the network connection is OK when I connected my PC to the Internet(with static IP address). So what should I do? I hope to hear fromyou soon! Thanks in advance. Could be that the cable connected toa router works while this devices support Auto Cross-Over and Auto-Negotiation since it's a network component and not a network end node like the CPU319. Using a switch in between is also an idea. You can easily check or the wired connection is ok by watching the LINK LED on the CPU.

I stillutilise a crossover cable ( pin1-pin3, pin3-pin1, pin2-pin6,pin6-pin2) to link my PC to the CPU. This time, the symptoms are: Link Leds turn 'ON' and PC reports: 'connected'. However, this only lasts for approx. 10 seconds and then: Link Leds turn' OFF' along with the announcement 'cable unplugged' on my PC. Everything,subsequently, happens as in a dance floor: 'ON' about 10 sec, 'OFF' about 3 sec...Ithere cannot download my HW configuration to the CPU via PROFINET. Is there still anything wrong? Must I download my HW configuration to CPU via MPI connection first(communication via MPI connection is always OK)? I attach my simple project. Pleasetake a look and help me to find the reason. I would recommend to use a switch in between once to check what happens. Because the cables you use doesn't deem to work correctly this could either be the cable, the PC Ethernet port or the CPU Ethernet port. Otherwise I really can't imaine what goes wrong other then a mechnical issue.

phaothu Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hello, INS ! I have attempted to use your approach. I tried the switch SCALANCE X005 and a new cable (this time is straight PROFINET cable). Things got much more better. All Led Links lit permanently (on both PC and CPU). However, when I downloaded my HW configuration into the CPU, I cannot view the CPU when I click the View button in the Accessible Nodes dialog. According to an example in a manual I've read, MAC address of the actual CPU (i'm using CPU 319 3PN-DP) has to appear in the Acessible Nodes part if everythingwas OK. I think allmy hardware (configured and connected following your suggestion) is OK ! So I am veryworried about this. Could you explain to me why?? Thanks for your valuable supports ! There is also an FAQ about this on the Support site. Why do no PROFINET components appear in the primary setup tool or in STEP 7 -Display Accessible Nodes-? I hope this works.
