brustonext Member Joined: 3/11/2014 Last visit: 10/28/2022 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi all, I am trying to communicate a remote ET200SP with a PM210 multimeter of the SCHNEIDER brand, through MODBUS RTU (RS485). However, my MODBUS_MASTER block does not receive slave data on the DATA_PTR, but the RX / TX LEDs are flashing during the request. In the multi-meter I only have the option of setting baud rate, MB Adress and parity, these are configured according to the block. The BUSY output stays in DONE during the request, but the DONE output never changes stains. Did they have any suggestions? Brazil's support could not identify anything wrong. Error 8381 indicates the following, according to the manual: 16 # 8381 Parameter assignment error: Invalid value for "Response timeout". Select a suitable value for "Response timeout" (AcknDelayTime). Valid range of values: 1 to 65535 (ms) But I could not find out what this adjustment parameter is. Could you tell me? Kaulquappe Posts: 3093 Rating: (324)	Hello brustonext, error 8381 means that the slave responds with exception code 1: function code not supported. I checked again the first screen shots you sent, and you use DATA_ADDRESS 4006. This is no valid address for a holding register. But this should not cause error 8381. So check required function code / MODE and DATA_ADDRESS. Regards, Kaulquappe

Only problem now is that I was able to communicate only 1 address at a time. From what I had read about the operation of the block, MB_ADRESS would be the starting address of the reading. In DATA_LEN you indicate how many addresses you want to read from MB_ADRESS and would col- lect an ARRAY of variables for it to complete. But this way it does not work, it indicates error # 818D, problem with the variable size of DATA_PTR. Any idea what that might be? Attachment 5.png (161 Downloads)

One thing you should take into account: address 40001 of the application layer refers to function code 3 offset 0 of the data link layer. So you must add/subtract 40001. Regards, Kaulquappe
