Comms Fault - Simocode

Tuff Gong Posts: 41 Rating: (1)	What is the best way of detecting a communication fault between an S7-400 and a Simocode DP? Is it sufficient to read the data from the Simocode and check if it equals zero? Or is there a better way?

There are the 6 bytes of standard diagnosis(look here) and if you have alook to the Simocode manual you'll find additional specific diagnostics data. Another possibility you can find here. mumbles Posts: 160 Rating: (16)	Another possibility is to use SFC51. Using this block you can determine if a slave is "communictaing" to the master or not. The other way is to use your error OB's
