Hi all. I want to communicate KTP400 with MODBUS simulator (PC) by MODBUS RTU.

How can I configure in the TIA portal?

am I using KTP400 as a master or as a slave?

for first check for sure if your HMI suuports Modbus RTU protocol, generally RS485 interface is available. I recommend write your HMI order number inside right up Search input box and see data sheet where all capabilities can be described. Generally HMI acts as master with MB protocol so you need configure your PC as Slave. Try do first tests with Holding register defined area, try cooperate with HMI's documentation.
