Communicating between S7 300 over Ethernet

andre_guerra Posts: 31 Rating: (0)	Hi, i hope you can help me with my problem. How can i connect two or more S7 300 with ethernet, using ISO-on-TCP or TCP connection or any other type of connection but whitout having to configure all of them, and only programming one (in a passive way, like a toutch panel does). I configured one PLC with a ISO-ON-TCP active connection with send receive mode and other with a ISO-ON-TCP passive connection with fetch mode. I tryied to use the communication block GET, but it doesn't work. Can you tell me what i'm doing wrong. Thank you.

Jesper Pedersen Posts: 279 Rating: (30)	Hi andre. The possible combination of protocols and what program blocks to use depend greatly onthe ethernet hardware. You have to distinguish between CP343-1, CP343-1 LEAN, and onboard PN port on CPUs. So please start with stating what hardware you have alreadyor is planning to use. If possible, specify the exact type numbers.

andre_guerra Posts: 31 Rating: (0)	Hi Jesper. Thank you for your attention. The hardware that im using in the momment is two CPU's 315-2DP serial: 2AG10-0AB0 and tow CP's 341-3 Lean serial1CX10-0XE0. I hope you can help me.

Jesper Pedersen Posts: 279 Rating: (30)	Hi again Andre. OK, for the CP343-1 LEAN models, you have to setup an UDP, ISO_ON_TCP or TCP connection. And then you use FC5 AG_SEND and FC6 AG_RECV from the SIMATIC_NET_CP standard library. There is also a possibility with the socalled Open Communication Connections on ISO_ON_TCP or TCP.For this you can use the "T" blocks (FB63 and onwards in the standard library .. communication folder). However, this is more complicated. So I suggest you go with AG_SEND and AG_RECV to start with.

But with this solution i need to put a AG_SEND block in one CPU and a AG_RECEIVE in the other CPU. Is there a away that i can trade information whitout having to put a block in every CPU? I tried the FB14 GET, but it doesn't work. Do you know another way. Thanks

Jesper Pedersen Posts: 279 Rating: (30)	Hi again Andre. No I think that there is no way todo it from one side only. The T blocks also work with send/recieve pairs. PUT/GET only works with S7 connections, and you cannot setup an S7 connectionbetween twoCP343-1 LEAN modules. Youcan setup an S7 connection between a 315-2PN/DP and a CP343-1 LEAN for example, and the CP343-1 LEANwill thenanswer to an incoming PUT/GET message fromthe partner. But a CP343-1 LEAN cannot initiate PUT/GET itself.

Apart from that, I suggest that you experiment with setting up connections in NetPro. This is great for learning what is possible and what is not. Try setup an S7 connection between two CP343-1 Lean modules. And try to setup an S7 Connection from a CP343-1 and a CP343-1 Lean.
