Communicating Sinamics DCM over Profibus

Niranjan Prasad Posts: 691 Rating: (37)	Dear All I am trying to communicate Sinamics DC Drive in Profibus, but couldn't succeed. I read the Manual named Control Module, and followed the procedure. While configuring I found, the way Manual describes is different from mine configuration. Please suggest me to communicate with the Sinamics Drive Attachment Sinamics.gif (1006 Downloads)

Please clarify the differences in order to understand what exactly is the problem there. I am afraid here doesn't exist yet a sample project with Sinamics DCM. best regards, Hristo Mihalev

Niranjan Prasad Posts: 691 Rating: (37)	Well I am using 412-2DP cpu to communicate some Sinamics drives. I got one GSD file of Sinamics and tried to communicate at least one but could not get the Result

Anchobi Posts: 139 Rating: (25)	Hi Looks like the GSD file is the right one from the picture that was in the first post. you need to make sure that your drive configuration in starter matches the configuration for your PLC hardware config. could this be where the problem lies? To do this, set up the parameters in starter for your drive. To do this open the drive object in the prject tree and open communications->Message frame configuration Here is the base point for setting your drive communication settings. You can set the message frames for the control unit, and drive object here. When finished, from the communications->Message frame configuration page click on the button "transfer to hardware config" and this will load into your PLC hardware config. You will then need to download to both PLC and drive. This leads me to my next question. Can you go online to the drive to download the paramters? Note the DCM does not have a 24V pin on the profibus port like other Sinamics and thus cannot be programmed via the siemens USB programming adapter. (there is a programming adpater you can use but I wont go into it) So you may need to go online to the Drive using a serial cable or profibus on a node with a 24V pin or ethernet routing via the PLC (netpro)

Best regards, Hristo Mihalev Thanx UMENCHO for the Reply I googled about the CF Card and saw it is similar to the CP 5611 used in the Laptops. Right now I am off the Site. Can I use Sinamics Memory Card into the PC/MCI port of my Laptop? I can use CP 5611 Card in my Laptop.
