   I am having 10 Energy meter (EM 6436 conserv )whose readings are daily captured manually @ 6:00 Am. I want to capture it automatically using Siemens PLC. Please guide me.

Energy meter has Modbus 485 ( 2 wire system D+ and D-).

I am using simatic manager V 5.6.

Sir i saw that page, Is It requires me to buy CP341. How to configure  in Hardware configuration.

Is there any GSD file available foe Energy meter EM 6436.

My ultimate Aim is to Collect data from Energy meter once in a day. to knoe tje cumulative consumption. Daily in the morning 

I have PLC and Cables and cannot invest more. all 13 meters are connected in Modbus / Rs 485.

The usual (recommended by Siemens) way to connect a S7-300 to a Modbus RTU slave is to use a CP 341 along with a Modbus RTU master loadable driver and external dongle. This combination can be quite expensive. You will find complete information in this manual:

An alternative has been developed by our friend TIBI68. It allows the use of a less expensive serial comm processor, the CP 340, and the functions are freely available from this thread:

As you can see in this very long thread, TIBI68 himself has helped improve his function blocks as Siemens programmers have used them, and he still offers support when needed.

It's also possible to communicate the S7-300 CPU with the Conserve Meter if you will use ProFiNet to RS-485 converter of AnyBus. I've just completed my Project recently for communicating a Third-Party Andon display with S7-412-2 PN CPU via this converter.

Part No of the Converter is: AB7013-C.

But keep in mind that you should know the Data format of the Energy Meter by which it'll transfer it's data to the PLC.
