Communication between 1500 and S7300

Niccou Regular Member Joined: 8/14/2013 Last visit: 11/5/2024 Posts: 16 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have a project where I would like to collect relatively large amount(tens of kilobytes) of data from several "smaller area" PLCs which are 300 CPUs to one 1500 CPU. Do you have any suggestions which would be the best(and fastest) way to do the communication? All of them can't be in the same project so does that rule out S7 communication? I have been trying to make a connection from 300 to 1500 with BSEND but so far without success. I know that "old" PLCSIM can simulate CPU-CPU communication, but is it possible between the old PLCSIM and the new 1500PLCSIM? Help much appreciated!

Pittiplatsch Posts: 1368 Rating: (128)	hello Niccou, there are some possibilties for a communication between S7-300 and S7-1500. It depends on, if you want to have a configured connection like S7 commucation or the way over the open commmunication. In this document http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/de/78028908 you find the possibilites listed. If you want to have a s7 communiation, you must configure a unspecified connection in each projekt with the ip address of the partner.Have a look here in chapter 2.2.2 http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/de/17628518 With the open communiucation (T blocks), you can use them in our program without any network configuration. Have fun...

Also just because it's polite I'm happy to say that today I made a successful connection with TCON and TSEND. 300 and 1500 have some differences in those blocks but after a while of debugging it started to work. And without any network configuration.
