Hi Folks,

I want to set up communication between:

• An 1513-1 PN (typ.: 513-1AL01-OAB0) , which is programmed in TIA V14;
• An 315-2 DP (typ.: 315-2AF03-OABO) with lean CP card 343-1 (typ.: 343-1CX10-0XE0), which is programmed in Step7.
  

I only want to read from the s7-300 CPU so I want to use a simple GET function in the (TIA) program of the s7-1500 cpu.

I know that the 315-2 DP of my specific type is too old to implement it in my devices and networks in TIA. Therefore I tried using a unspecified s7-300 cpu instead for setting up the S7 connection. 

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to add a s7 connection between my cpu's. (read: I couldn't draw a line of type S7-connection between the s7-1500 cpu & the unspecific s7-300 cpu).

When I try to draw this line of type S7-connection between the s7-1500 and a 315-2 DP cpu out of the catalog, it works just fine. 

Has someone had the same problem or do you know the solution? Please let me know.

Another quick question just to make sure: Do I have to program anything in the Step7 side for letting this connection work?

you use a CP343-1 Lean - here you have to project PUT/GET instruction in S7-1500 PLC. And also enable "Allow access over Put/Get in S7-1500 properties"

you don´t have to draw any line to config a S7-connection.

Establish a unspecified S7-connection in the S7-1500 to the IP of the S7-300 station.

Then you can exchange data with PUT/GET instruction in the S7-1500 program.
