IS IT POSSIBLE TO COMMUNICATE BETWEEN THESE TWO STATIONS OVER ETHERNET. IF YES ,PLEASE TELL ME HOW IT IS POSSIBLE. IF ,NO WHAT I NEED TO DO ,TO MAKE IT POSSIBLE. THANKS AND REGARDS, SAMIR

Create a s7 connection (or) TCP connection between both PLC in netpro. And use Get/Put block if you create s7 connection . Use AG send recieve if you create tcp connection. In help you can find the basic information about block parameters. Further if you have any problem reply back. Note: As one of your cpu is reduntant another is not you have to make 2 connections from 300 cpu. One to Primary CPU another to Secondary CPU.

PLEASE REPLY. THANKS, SAMIR hi, That is what MADHAVA mentioned clearly in the "Note" above. In S7 300(Netpro) you need to configure two connections, One with the master CPU and the second with the standby CPU, and you can enable the corresponding blocks(get/put or agsend/receive) based on the master/standby status bits.

In the S7 300 side you can have both the connections(blocks) enabled simultaneously so that it will be sending the bytes to both the H CPU's regardless of which is being the master and standby(Since it isnt a wireless connection and there wouldnt be much bytes being transfered, this wouldnt have any effects i guess).

Hello SAMIRKM further to the advise that was given, have a look at chapter 14.5.1 of the SIMATIC Fault-tolerant systems S7-400H manual and note the entry about GET/PUT at the end which states that: (Use) SFB 15 "PUT" and SFB 14 "GET" in the fault-tolerant system: Use two SFB 15 "PUT" blocks over two standard connections. First call the first block. If there was no error message when the block executed, the transfer is assumed to have been successful. If there was an error message, the data transfer is repeated via the second block. If a connection cancelation is detected later, the data is also transferred again to exclude possible information losses. You can use the same method with an SFB 14 "GET". If possible, use the mechanisms of S7 communication for communication. In other words, all is handled in the H-CPU's instead of the 300 CPUso no need to worry about trying to evaluatewhichH CPU is Master in the 300 CPU. I hope this helps
