Communication between CPU 312 & CP 343-1 Lean

bodemin Posts: 19 Rating: (0)	Hello, I want to connect Siemens RF660R reader with a Simatic Controller. There is CPU 315-2 PN/DP but it is very expensive. Therefore, I have found an alternative. I can use CPU 312 and CP 343-1 Lean Ethernet module to achive TCP/IP support. But I dont know how to communicate CPU & CP. Could you please help me? What do I need to do this operation? Ates Posts: 198 Rating: (17)	actually if you mean comminication btwn cpu 312 and cp, you just plug them, and you just build the hardware, then it starts to communicate.. you can open ports from netpro and you can use function blocks to communicate ..

dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 3/14/2025 Posts: 12344 Rating: (2707)	Hello Emin; Basically, you need to install the CP 343-1 in your rack properly, configure it in your PLC hardware (Step 7 HWConfig and Netproare the correct editors) and create communication blocks AG_SEND and AG_RECV (for example)to exchange data with a partner; data transferto/from the CPU over the backplane connections will be taken care of by the CPU's operating system.
