Communication between CPU 315-2DP and Unisab Controller

I am doing a small project where in i has to establish the Profibus communication between the 315-2DP and Unisab Controller on DP port. On the PLC side i am connecting the Profibus Connector but on theUnisab it has to be terminated on the TerminalBlocks. I am unable to connect the terminating resistor. In the hardware configuration i has added the GSD file and downloaded to the PLC. But PLC unable to detect the device. I found one terminating jumper on the UNISAB and connnected it also. But still PLC is unable to detect the Controller. I want to know how i can connect directly resistor to the profibus cable on the UNISAB Controler. What should be the resistor value? Is it permissible? Please help me. I am unable to sort this problem. Regards PLC Engineer.

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear PLC Engineer, I am sorry, but I have no idea about UNISAB but have you ever thought about using an active bus terminator on the PROFIBUS, this way you can ensure that the PROFIBUS is safe anyway. The second thounght is that I know some nodes that need, even if they should work as DP Slave, a configuration loaded. So did you check that the UNISAB, if it is a smart device, has to be loaded or configured with some software? Best regards J_Bell

Hunky Posts: 82 Rating: (6)	Thanks for your help. Unisab controller is of normal type(not the smat type). I am attaching you the UNISAB Manual. Really this simple thing is going like anything. I am unable to understand where is the actual problem. I am attaching the Screen shots also. I am doing the following steps in hardware configuraton. 1. I am enabling the DP Network with baud rate of 19.2kbps. 2. I am adding the GSD file and then its INPUT words. 3. Saving and Compling. 4. Downlaoding the file to the PLC. Is there any mistake i am doing. Note: There is terminating resistor on the UNSIAB Controller which i has enebled. So there is no problem with end resistor. Please help me to solve this problem. One more thing i has found, Unisab is having AUTO Baud rate detection. And it is setting the same baud rate what i am setting in the PLC. Then why there is communication problem? Regards..
