Communication between IM-151-8-F using Send/Receive

henno2000 Posts: 177 Rating: (0)	For passing 'normal' data between the processors listed above, I am trying to use the send/receive blocks, but when trying to establish the connection, the following message is received: 'No corresponding CP exists on the local station' Is it possible to achieve communication between these devices? mumbles Posts: 160 Rating: (16)	I am assuming that you are trying to establish a S7 connection via netpro. Unfortunately this is not possible via intelligent slaves. Instead try to use an S7 basic connection as detailed in the following topic. /tf/WW/en/Posts/31875#top

fritz Diamond Expert Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 12/5/2024 Posts: 3028 Rating: (1057)	Hello henno you need to create a so called "S7 connection" in Netpro (ISO, ISO on TCP,TCP and or UDP connections are NOT supported) and I while I "hate" to contradict mumbles, you cando this between twoIM151-8F CPU's and they do support S7 communication (as well as S7 basic communicationso the choice is yours). But please be aware that you may not use AG_SEND / AG_RECV for this type of connection. The only usable (S)FBs would be PUT / GET (for single sided configured connections or both sided configured connections) or BSEND / BRECV // USEND / URCV (for both sided configured connections only) Then you are on the save side. J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Henno2000, well... there we have to see both systems (S7-300 and S7-400) In the S7-400 the Internal as well as the External (CP) interfaces are able to handle S7-Communication. On PROFIBUS or on Ind. Ethernet interfaces you may run S7-Communication... no problem. Send / Receive is possible on the CP’s and as T-Communication with the PN Interface of the CPU itself. PROFIBUS may not handle FDL, FMS or other protocols than S7-Communication. In the S7-300 the Internal interface is very restricted. Only the PN interface is able to do S7-Communication as Client or Sever, the PROFIBUS interface is not able to handle S7-Communciation actively... it is only Server. Seen for the CP’s the latest Ethernet and PROIBUS CP’s are able to handle S7-Communication as Client or as Server... just as you want it. I hope I could answer your questions. Best regards J_Bell

Is it possible to commuicate/pass data to specific DBs using a method stated above (and not using CPs)? Regards, henno2000
