Communication between PC and PLC using TCP connection

mMoussa Posts: 15 Rating: (0)	Dears, I want to establish communication between a regular PC with normal Ethernet card/interface and Siemens S7-300 PLC (CPU 315-2DP and CP343-1); to be specific my goal is to make the PLC respond to Modbus request from the PC and send response back to PC (TCP requests). I’ve completely finish the code/Function that handles the Modbus request and send the response back to the PC based on the coming request,my question is how to configure the PC on NetPro in order to obtain ID and Laddr to use it with AG-Send and AG-Receive functions? Also I’d like to state that I’ve already added to my project “other station” object and I’ve added an Industrial Ethernet interface to this station and I configured the connection (TCP connection) but when I try to check the connection status I found it closed or trying to establish connection. I hope that you might help me or guide me to a correct configuration to establish the communication between the PC and PLC Thanks a lot for your help and support. mMoussa

joisramesh Posts: 40 Rating: (1)	Hello, Open the Netpro add the other station to the ethernet network then ensure that you have CP in your HW cofiguration. Then click on the CPU in the netpro then add new connection by right click down side in Netpro and select other station. this will give you the required parameters. Now kindly note that Idid what you have just told me and for some reason I can’t get an active connection between the PLC and the PC (other station1), whatever I do I never get active/established connection in Netpro down side!!! Honestly I don’t know why? But I used the same configuration (IP address)with another device (Moxa MGate 3080) and I obtained a good connection which really makes me very confused and now I can’t understand why it’s not working with my PC. I’ve attached the program with hw configuration and Netpro configuration, and I hope it would clear the problem for you. Also I need to tell you that I’m using a straight cable between the PLC’s CP and PC, and I’m using a regular Ethernet card in the PC. Thanks again and best regards.
