Hello lucky; We will need more information on the energy modules and the type of wireless connections you plan to use. First, what kind of communications interface do the energy meters have? Profibus? Ethernet (and which protocol)? Modbus/TCP, or Modbus RTU? Serial? This will help us understand how they can be connected to a network (any network, wireless or wired, for the moment). Then, do you plan on using GPRS, for example, or Wireless Ethernet? What are the distances between the stations, and are they available line-of-sight? Do you need continous updates of the energy modules or could you live with a wireless modem dial-in connection? While you are gathering this information, have a look at the Siemens Industry Mall, in the section Industrial Wireless Communication, it will show you a general idea of the different offerings form Siemens. https://eb.automation.siemens.com/goos/catalog/Pages/ProductData.aspx?catalogRegion=WW&language=en&nodeid=10051308&tree=CatalogTree®ionUrl=/#topAnch Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
