Communication between PLC Simotion and Markem printer

lnrdsll Member Joined: 12/10/2021 Last visit: 2/6/2025 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Good morning, I need to implement a communication between some Markem peripherals and Siemens Simotion PLCs (D410 or D425 or D435 indistinctly). In the projects there will be a combination of 1 PLC + 1 Printer, all connected via Ethernet wired network. The idea was to communicate through the CLI Protocol and the Colos V6 Line software, is it possible to communicate through the TCP/IP protocol to send commands to the printer and use the LCom library to do so?

Duris_I Diamond Member Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 4/19/2025 Posts: 10876 Rating: (837)	Hello, this link can help you: Simotion_Simatic LCom library for TCP communication I recommend for first do some tests with some PC app (Hercules or Hyperterminal) connected to printer and use app as Client for TCP connection, printer is as Server expected with functionality. If commands will work without problems via specific Port then you can prepare own comm or use that LCom library.
