Communication between S5-155U CPU948 and S7-Safety S7 317F-2 DP

A 948 system is not a safety system, it is a standard system. So you can only mount a standard communication between S5-S7. You can use a S7-300 as DP master and IM308C as slave and communicate with profibus DP protocol. There is many other types of communications that you can use to link a S5 to a S7, but in your case, just standards ways.

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, as Pegaia said, you can not use the F-Functions for a none save system like the S5 you use. There you have to use the "standard" DP Functions over the I/O area or the SFC 14/15. Nothing else will work here. If you want you could also do something wit Ethernet and a CP 1430 on S5 and CP 343-1 on S7--- but this requires a lot of HW additionally. Best regards J_Bell

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello LUTFI, well I would say you need: CP 1430 with COM 1430 TF or the TCP Versions, depending what you have. CP 343-1 Standard / Lean (only with TCP versionpossible)or Advanced one SCALANCE Switch to connect both and possibly other Components like your PC a Ethernet Cable from the CP 343-1 to the Switch a Ethernet Cable 15 Pin Sub D for Industrial Twisted Pair to RJ45 for the CP 1430. you may also use a Cross over cable from the CP 1430 with 15 pin Sub D Industrial Twisted pair with RJ45 for the CP 343-1 but this might have to be done by yourself and you can reach a lower distance between the two nodes.
