Communication between S7-1200 and TP 177 Micro

germanohenz Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hello, I'm trying to communicate S7-1200 with HMI TP 177 Micro, but I'm having some troubles. I downloaded the projects for each devide and they are working well, but the PLC can't access the HMI tags. I'm programming the S7-1200 in TIA Portal and the HMI in WinCC Flexible Micro 2008. I noticed that in WinCC in the 'connections' menu, there is only 1 drive avaiable named "S7-200". Is there a drive for S7-1200 communication with TP 177 micro? Thanks.

But what is the communication you are using between S7-1200 and TP 177 micro?? MPI / DP?

germanohenz Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Ganes10, The communication is MPI. The information in the link you sent is for panels with Ethernet interface. The TP 177 micro has only a serial interface. Thanks.

Hello germanohenz, Typically you can choose the similar settings under S7-300 for MPI. I haven't tested if it works, but it may work.

It's weird that only the S7-200 driver is avaiable in my WinCC software. Maybe I need to do some upgrade to be able to use S7-300 driver. Thanks. Hello germanohenz, S7-1200 is supported in WinCC v11 onwards as a native driver. But unfortunately not with WinCC Flexible 2008. In your case TP177 micro is not supported in WinCC v11. So you can either change S7-1200 or TP177 micro.
