Communication between S7-300 and TI555

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, I am really sorry but I fear that we have not that many specialists for TI 555 available. Ido not even know the difference between the TI 555 and TI 505. For the TI 505 there is the CP 1434 available, this Ethernet CP allows you to communicate over ISO Transport Protocol. For the TI 555 a DP Master is available. So if you set the S7 to be a DP Slave you can exchange Data. One thing I can not tell you is the way how to achieve this. For more details about the TI I would contact SIEMENS Customer Support Johnson City USA. They have dedicated Specialists on this System. I hope they can help you. Best regards J_Bell

DaveT Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I would recommend a DP-coupler. That way, both the S7 and 555 can be masters of their own Profibus segments. The coupler allows bidirectional data transfer, although at a fixed data length (128 bytes each way, I believe).

billwest Posts: 510 Rating: (117)	The manuals for both the CP1434 TCP and the CTI-2572 (Siemens CP2572) modules contain code examples for communication betweeen the TI505 PLC (545 or 555) and the S7 300/400. The code examples use AGSend and AGRecv on the S7 side. I doubt you can purchase the FMS or MODNIM modules any more. DP DP coupler is a great solution if you have a Profibus capable 555 and you don't need to transfer a lot of data. You will need COMProfibus to configure Profibus for the 555 Bill
