Hello engineers,

I have configured S7-Connection between S7-400 and ET200SP by following these instructions: How do you configure and program an S7 connection and the FB15 "PUT" and FB14 "GET" function blocks for data transfer between an S7-1200 CPU and an S7-300 CPU?

When I tried to run a simple test, I got:

Error = 1 and Status = 1.

By reading help of the GET function, I got to know that this is referred to communication problems i.e.

- Connection description not loaded (local or remote)

- Connection interrupted (cable, CPU off, CP in STOP mode)

- Connection to partner not yet established

- FB cannot run on an S7-400 CPU

In the Standard Library -> Communication blocks -> FB14 "GET" and FB15 "PUT" I can see under "Family" column that it states "CPU_300", but I didn't find any other GET or PUT blocks in the Communication blocks folder. I have defined CPU 416-2 DP station in the hardware configuration.

QUESTIONS:

*** Where to find these blocks for 400 CPUs, because obviously this could be a source of problem?

*** Is it possible to test this kind of communication with PLCSIM? (My PLCSIM for S7-400 and ET200SP are both in run mode).

UPDATE

I have changed some things in the project.

Now I don't call GET block in simatic manager, but rather in TIA Portal, so I guess there should not be a problem with "Family" (please read the previous post). Still I get Error = 1 and Status = 1.

In the attachment I have provided snapshots of the settings I have done in the project.

 As soon as I did that, my communication started working. Didn't know that I have to download S7-Connection in the NetPro window. Don't have much experience in working with Simatic Manager :)

If someone encounters the same problem:

S7-300 CPU: Function blocks GET and PUT are found under Standard Library -> Communication Blocks.

S7-400 CPU: Function blocks GET and PUT are found under Standard Library -> System Function Blocks.
