Communication between Siemens PLC and Telemecanique Premium PLC

Zoax Posts: 21 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have a Telemecanique Premium PLC. I have to install a Siemens PLC. The Siemens PLC will read some data in the Telemecanique PLC and will do some calculations. Which communication can I establish between Siemens PLC and Telemecanique PLC ? TCP Communication for example ? Which Siemens PLC can I install ? Can I install S7-200, S7-312, S7-313 or higher ? Can I establish a TCP/IP communication between a Telemecanique plc and a S7-200 plc ? Can I establish a TCP/IP communication between a Telemecanique plc and a S7-312, a S7-313 plc ? J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Zoax, well, I guess you know what you do with your Telemecanique PLC so I try to explain what to do on the S7. If you use a S7-PLC you may use a S7-300 CPU together with a CP 343-1 (maybe a LEAN would be enough if you need only 1 or 2 (or up to 8) TCP/IP Connections). A S7-200 will not work, not even with a CP 243-1 because the CP only support S7-Communication, this will certainly not be supported by the Telemecaique PLC. So, it is up to you if you use a CPU 312 or 313or higherwith the CP 343-1 Lean or if you use a CPU with PN interface (this CPU type also supports TCP/IP on the PN interface) One thing I would like to remind you EtherNet/IP is not TCP/IP, just for the case. if the performance and the memoryof the CPU 312 is sufficient you may surely use this CPU too. You may choose, for the CP 343-1 Lean, one of these CPUs or newer:

Could you confirm that I have to realize the following procedure in NetPro in order to establish a tcp/ip communication ? 1. Add a other station. 2. Add a Industrial Ethernet Interface to this station. 3. Define the IP address of this interface 4. Add a TCP connection between the Siemens station and the other station. Thanks, Zoax

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, the point is, if you use a CPU PN interface to do the TCP/IP Connection than you use TCON, TSEND, TRECV or TCLOSE. If you use a CP you may not use the T-Functions, in this case you have to use AG_SEND / AG_RECV. If you use the PN interface of the CPU you may not configure a Connection in NetPro, than you have to configure a configuration DB that contains your connection configuration. To do this configuration STEP7 provides, with the Version V 5.4.5 the Open Communication Wizard. This Open Communication Wizard may also be installed separately if you have an older STEP7 version.
