Communication between Simatic S7-300 and Modicon M340 via Profibus network

Hello Eli; Prosot technolgies oers a gateway or the M340 (Modbus/TCP to Proibus-DP master): http://www.prosoft-technology.com/Products/Gateways/PROFIBUS-DPV1-Master/PROFIBUS-Master-for-Modicon-Modbus-TCP-IP SE MNET-PDPMV1 User Manual Once the M340 is configured as a Profibus-DP master (through the gateway) you can either: - set the S7-300 as a Profibius-DP slave so it can be directly connected on the M340's Proibus network; - use a DP/DP coupler as a slave to both the M340 master and the S7-300 master in order to exchange data between both Proibus-DP masters. This you will select i the S7-300 is already conigured as a master on its own Profibus-DP network. Look at the product description for the gateway in the links above, and then start planning the way you would like to configure the exchanges. We can help you again once you have chosen the path you would take. By the way, DPV1 has nothing to do with multi-master Profibus networks, you can configure these on DPV0 as well. DPV1 controls the availability of acyclic exchanges over Profibus links.
