Communication code wincc => serial

Hi all,

i red the manual below

I want to make a communication with a barcode/cardreader (connected at a comm port)

i tried do make the code work but i have errors if i compile it: (see attachment)

I think the problem is in the "Tag.Write" how can i solve this?

Hi, I noticed you did write:

Set tagConnection = SmartTags("Connection")

in line 5 instead of:

Set tagConnection = HMIRuntime.Tags("Connection")

Which WinCC do you use? Advanced ? Professional? WinCC V7.3? 

The FAQ is for WinCC up to V7.3.
If you don't use TIA Portal your post should be sortet to "SIMATIC WinCC".
If you use WinCC Advanced the VBS commands will be somewhat different.
If you use WinCC Professional it shoud still work though.

i use the wincc v13 tia portal advanced version. What is the difference between the smarttag and hmi.runtime tag?

  I am also trying the same and my communication is happening but if i change to other screen the communication is not working.also if i come to same screen again then also there is no communication.

 HI Jadav,

    put objects and tags on the template screen. same template use for all screen, now u can avoid disconnect problem when screen change.

   you did the project in WinCC Advanced or Professional? 

Can any one share the project if success
