Communication DCS ABB and S7-300

NewBerd Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hello I would like to know information about how to make a communication between a DCS ABB and a PLC S7-300 CPU 313C-2DP, that steps I must folowing in Step 7, what fuction block there are for this application. that Block of date de Step 7 ,I must called from DCS ? the PLC it must to be Slave? Thanks for your Help. Mauricio

Do you want to use a OPC Server? Do you use SIMATIC NET Software? Which Network type are you about to use: PROFIBUS industrial Ethernet serial Interfaces ... Please let us know. Best regards J_Bell

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (411)	Hello, due to the Interface you intend to use, the PROFIBUS Interface of the CPU, you are restricted to a view possibilities. These are: S7-Protocol PROFIBUS DP Protocol The DP Protocol would than be used that way that the PC is DP Master and the CPU is DP Slave, the way to configure the CPU as DP Slave is explained in the Configuration Manual in STEP7. The S7 Protocol would require no further configuration on the PLC side. You just have to set the PROFIBUS Address of the DP Interface and you have to network it, that's it. Everything else has to be done on the PC. To see how to configure this from PC side I would recommend to check the Manual: Commissioning PC Stations - Manual and Quick Start I hope I could help a bit. Best regards J_Bell
