Communication issues PC/PPi RS232/USB plc s7-200 226XM

Hello, i'm writing for a connection problem with plc s200, i have put the cpu in stop mode, and tried to connect with original pc/ppi cable by siemens, with a usb/rs232 converter and windows 7 64bit.

microwin v4 s9  cannot estabilish a comunication and go in timeout comunication error after adress scan of the cpu.

If you observe the image, the local address is 1 and i cannot select 0, minimun value that i can put is 1. It is strange couse i see other setting and default address seems have to be 0.

i have tried to connect in both port 0 and 1 , (sure than one of the two was used for a hmi).

and tried different bound rate

maybe you have a problem with the drivers

Thanks for the suggestion, already tried,  i have also make the test to change pc and also with another s200, there must be something in my procedure that is wrong, but i don't understand what,

what i do :

in the pc/ppi cable i select switches like the manual:boundrate 9.6 (bit 2 of ppi cable on) , M master bit 5 on, the rest of the bit OFF (i'm also in local mode bit 6 off).

i have istalled the driver for the usb/rs232 cable

i turn to stop the cpu of plc from the manual selector in plc.

in the microwin v4.0 i select the pc/ppi interface and in propreties  the speed of 9.6 and the right com port.

after that i espect the plc recognized ..

i miss some step?

 are you sure you S7 200 is 9600?

S7-200 uses RS485; PPI.

In days of Windows XP the use of

USB/RS232  -->  Siemens PPI cable  --> S7-200
                   (special)

Later there was a USB/PPI cable.

you can't use old RS-232 PPI cable under Win7 64 bit, also use of USB-RS232 adapter can't help simply here. Only under WinXP you have functionality of this old PPI cable. In these days you need min. USB-PPI MultiMaster cable but you need also check OS driver compatibility. Better buy USB PC Adapter A2 as minimum in my opinion. Old PC Adapter ...-972... can be also option but not for Profibus DP higher speed as 1.5 Mbps. Also S7-200 is supported. Check products description mentioned and select one.

My usb adapter is RS232/PPI multi master cable 6est7 901-3cb30-0xa0.

impossible for me buy a new cable.

the adaptor is usb rs232 by KRAUN i think is a common cheap cable.

(i'm not sure about the port used in plc  and the speed set, but i tried both port and different speed with cpu in stop mode)

if someone have any other advise , it would be appreciate, otherwise i will update with the win xp test.

Hello, i just want write that i found the problem in the driver, this is due to the utilization of usb -rs232 converter with china chip and the new driver of the original company.

If you have this problem you have to look for the oldest driver that didn't check the originality of the chip of the converter cable.

I can connect to S7-200 221 with microwin v4.0 sp9 on both win7 64 & 32bit using usb-rs232 converters. I have tested both FTDI US232R-10 and FTDI UC232R-10.
