Communication lost after download new connections

Mr. Q-Bridge Advanced Member Joined: 12/13/2005 Last visit: 12/9/2024 Posts: 64 Rating: (3)	Dear All, I'm using a CP416-2DP together with a CP 343-1EX20 and do some TCP-communication with about 50 barcode-scanners. The S7-CP is the client who makes a connection to de scanners on a specified portnumber. Everything works fine until I download anadjusted set of connections to the CP. I download only the connections, not the whole hardware. After the download now connection at all is functioning. In the diagnostic I can see the connections are connected with the scanners and the CP is waiting to receive data. But when the scanner is sending data it is not detected by the CP as a new messages. I already tried to power down/up the scanners; to STOP/START the CP; to reset the connection with the FC_CTRL. Nothing helps. The only solution until now is to completely download the hardware and connections. But then the CPU goes to stop and I want to avoid that. I searched the internet for new firmware for the CP, but their seems to be now firmware at all for the 1EX20. Please someone an idea. It will be very welcome. best regards, Bart Kumbruck, Q-BRIDGE

Do you use the newest communication blocks, the communication blocks are also renewed, which version of STEP7 do you use ? Version history of the SIMATIC NET function blocks and functions for SIMATIC S7 CPs Reference Manual& SIMATIC_NET_CP Library in STEP7 / NCM S7 The CP443-1EX20 is brandnew so there is no Firmware fore.

But I don't know how the counter works. Does it add after the AG_RECV has done his job OR immediatly after the receive in the CP? HOW TO DOWNLOAD connections without CPU going to stop? In NETPRO click on the S7-Station which you want to download. Then in the menu, click on PLC -> DOWNLOAD in this project -> connections and gateways. Greetz.

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, well... I fear now I know what is going on. The problem is that the Send/Receive Connections can not be loaded to the PLC CPU without having a Stop / Run cycle. The procedure you mentioned downloads Connections... but only S7 Connections. Send / Receive Connections need to be chained into the SDB container of the CPU, this requires to be done in Stop mode. Well as an alternative you could load the connection directly to the CP but this does not work, because you have a CP 443-1 EX 20, this CP does not support this feature anymore. Even so you would configure a CP EX11 it would not work. The last alternative that jumps into my mind would be to use the IP_Config function block FB 55 provided by the PLC library... but this requires a lot of programming. This is the situation as far as I see it. Best regards J_Bell
