Dear all, We use DP/DP coupler for connecting 2 masters over profibus. How to connect 2 masters over profinet. I want to connect a ABB PLC and Siemens PLC (Both are masters) over Profinet. Regards Surendhar M ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

hi Surendhar_M, at first, on Profinet it is not called Master. In Profinet you have a IO-Controller and IO-Devices. It depends on the specification. Are both IO-Controller in the same net? If Yes, you can use the I-Device-configuration like in this application sample: Configuration and Application of the PROFINET I-Device Function If not, you need to use a connection over a PN/PN-coupler. each side of this coupler is an IO-device for an IO-controller and they are communicating over the transfer-areas. Outputs on the X1-side are the inputs on the X2-side. The sides are electrically isolated. The manual of the coupler is explaining the configuration more in detail: SIMATIC Bus links PN/PN coupler You can also try to establish a routable connection between the controller, if the network-configuration is allowing to do so. hope this helps, regards, |
