Communication of CP340 over USS & CP341 over Modbus

I am using CPU S7-315 with CP340 for USS communication with Siemens VFDs MM440 & CP341 with Modbus Slave to communicate with Modbus RTU Master I eastablished communication with VFD & able to send two words & receive two words. I want to send two words & receive three words. When I am trying to do same my communication stops. 2. I want guide for programming of CP341nas master Slave. Regards Praveen Patil

dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 3/16/2025 Posts: 12344 Rating: (2707)	Hello Pravin; First here are the manuals for the loadanble drivers, Modbus RTU Master and Modbus RTU slave: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/1220184 http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/1218007 Also look at the following FAQ for Modbus slaves on the CP 341: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/18865330 You will need to buy the dongle for the CP 341, and download thew PTP parametrization package for PTP communications, that will allow you to set the parameters for Modbus comms on the CP 341. http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/27013524 I will look for information in the setup of USS on the CP340, and I am sure you will have other chime in also. But could I ask you why you choose USS, when Profibus-DP is much faster and robust? Question of cost? The CP340's cost must figure in somewhere in the price evaluation. Just curious.
