Communication problem between S7300 and ET200S

folco44 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi People I have a communication problem like written in subject. My LAN is managed by some Cisco switch of series 4000 all with POE technology, well if i connect the devices by my lan dont work and both have the red led BF lighted. But if i connect by a normal home switch like an 8 port Dlink ... WORK and the S7 communicate with the ET200S. Is evident that my Cisco switches stop something, like protocol or service or port, i dont know . People tha manage my Cisco said that for he is all open and he wont know what parameter have to set in Cisco switch for to allow the communication. Please help me, and i'am available for all your questions Tanks Folco

jklm Platinum Member Joined: 12/22/2006 Last visit: 1/25/2022 Posts: 1742 Rating: (309)	Hello, be aware that the cyclic profinet frames (I/O data) are tagged Ethernet frames with a VLAN tag. The VLAN Tag has VLAN-ID = 0, and a priority of 6. The switch may not drop these frames, but forward these according with the requested priority. The settings needed are very similar to the settings required for VoIP phones using 802.1p. If you want use VLANs, pay attention to the followinf FAQ http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/24947500 Another topic is that some discovery frames sent by the controller are multicast frames. The switch may not drop these frames either.
