Communication Problem with CP342-5 DP

Anil Belkery Posts: 52 Rating: (0)	Hi All, I am using CPU 315-2 DP and CP 342-5 DP (6GK7 342-5DA02-0XE0/ V5.0). CP 342-5 is communicating with Simocodes through the standard Siemens Blocks (FC 7 DP_Send & FC 8 DP_Recv).On one of the occassions i have observed that theCP was able toRecieve data from Simocdes but unable toSenddata to them. On investigating the problem i have observed that there was an error on the DP Send Block but surprisingly there were no Fault indications on CP Card When i have Reset the card, it started working fine ( Receive - Send Action was fine). I think in either of the cases if CP is unable to read or write the data to its slave devices Fault Led should come up on the Card. Please share the information on the same. Regards, Anil

He is sending the last data he got to the slave. So, there is no problem in the communication. The CP didn't know, that you wanted to update the data. The second thing is your FC. He has to update the data. This is his job. So you have to check the status of the FC's if you want to know wether they are working or not. Which error-code did you get? Best regards Sabine

Anil Belkery Posts: 52 Rating: (0)	Hi all, Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately i don't have the error code being dispalyed on the CP write block@ that movement. As per ur understanding if the communication was O.K. why the CP was not able to Write on the Slave Devices. However the problem was solved just by restarting the CP card. My primary concern is "Fault LED should have tuned On the CP card". Regards, Anil B.

The latest one is V5.7 (link is below) and I suggest you update your CP to it in case you are running an older version. Firmware V5.7 for CP 342-5 I hope thishelps and please let us know the outcome (and if if doesn't fix the problem, please post your S7 project here together with the error codes that you get on the DP_SEND).
