communication problem with my laptop containing SIMATIC STEP 7 VER-5.4 and Siemens S7-300 PLC

rajib Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Myself, Rajib Das, Currently I am facing one critical situation as I could not communicate with any of S7 PLC with my laptop. My laptop is using SIMATIC STEP 7, Ver-5.4. (1) I am getting one error message "No other active partner can be found" message 33:16944. whenever I tried to make ONLINE or DOWNLOAD PLC program. (2) In my PC adapter USB all the three LED: MPI,Power and USB are ON. (3) PLC power is always ON. I tried with both the settings: In SET PG/PC Interface (1) with PC Adapter MPI. (2) with PC Adapter Auto. But I couldn't understand why my Laptop is not communicating with the PLC. What kind of cable is this?On PG/PC settings what you received when put test conection? about the usb's lamps for me this, that they blinked(orpoweron) isnormal,butdoesn'tmeansyoucanconnecttothePLC. regards umencho

rajib Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Thanks for your reply. I am using SIAMTIC S7 PC ADAPTER USB. On the adapter-PC side there is an USB cable and on the Adapter-PLC side there is an MPI point to point connection. About three LEDs, when I start to be online or making the link to download or online monitor, USB LED blinks for some time, Power LED is always ON, and MPI LED is constantly ON, not blinking at all, and the error message comes "No other active partner can be found".

rajib Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Dear Umencho Thanks for continous support. I already have tried to reinstall Adapter driver, also I checked MPI,PLC and PC address and baud rate. But still couldn't make the communication.

In my opinion this situation is that you are connected directly to the PLCs MPI Interface, aren't you? So on other node ore MPI Partner is available, am I right? So if this is the case please check the document you sent and take a look on page 5 or 6 just as you like to. There you see the Window "Properties PC Adaptor(MPI)" If you see this Window you see at the first line in "Station Parameters" the check box for "PG/PC is the only master on the bus" unchecked. Please check this box and try it again. Best regards J_Bell.

rajib Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Dear All, I have reinstalled SIMATIC STEP7 ver 5.4 in my laptop, then I checked the communication. Now the communication between my laptop and S7-300 is perfectly fine. Thanks to everybody who has given me support.
