Communication through S7 Connection

Azee Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	this is probably a newbie question, but: i am trying to make two S7-300 systems communicate through ethernet. one system has CPU 315-2 PN/DP, so it has a built-in ethernet communication. the other system has CPU 314C-2 DP with CP 343-1 Lean. i am trying to configure a connection in NetPro, and it seems that the only possible protocol is S7 connection. is this correct? (i have seen the thread/FAQ about this, but my most important concern is this:) and with this kind of setup, can both systems send and receive to and from the other system? many thanks!

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Dear Azee, the S7-Connection is the only full configurable Connection for your Setup in NetPro, this is true. The CPU 315 PN/DP allows you also to have TCP, UDP or ISO on TCP Connections but these have to be configured as a DB and can not be handled for the CPU with NetPro. The CP would have to have a Connection configured in NetPro anyway. I know this sounds a bit strange but it is technical fact. I know there is a Configuration sample check this out: How is an open TCP communication connection established between an S7-300 PN CPU and a CP343-1, and how is data exchanged? Best regards J_Bell
