Communication to PC from "C" port issue for 7sj62 relay

Raja1988 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi, We have two units of 150MW in a thermal power plant. We are using SIPROTEC 4 with siemens engineering PC which came along with relay panel. We have total 9 nos. of relays (7UM,7UT, 7SJ62 etc) out of which 5nos. relays in Panel A and 4 nos. relays in Panel B. Earlier we have communicated all relays through rear port ("C" port) to engineering PC. But after some days the 7sj62x relays are not communicating and remaining all are communicating with out any errors. We have total 3 nos. 7sj62 relays. Also only one 7sj62 relay at particular time will not communicate. After some time may after one day or so that 7sj62 relay will communicate and the other 7sj62 relay will not communicate. If we try to communicate 7sj62 relay(which is not communicating) at that time we cannot communicate any relay of.v the total 9 nos. relays. But if we unplug the "C" port connection of that relay and try to communicate, then all the remaining (8 nos.) relays will communicate. We are facing the same problem for both the units in our power plant. We are using windows xp sp3 and Digsi v4.86 The error "The connection to the USB device has been cancelled. Attempting to reconnect For connection via USB or ethernet, click OK to close the dialog. Subsequently Restore the connection." which occurs suddenly while communicating the 7sj62 relay and then onwards no relay will communicate until we unplug the "C" port of it. Which protocol you are using. Also give some screen shoots for the property of the relays in DIGSI especially for C port.

Mike J Platinum Expert Joined: 10/9/2007 Last visit: 9/5/2024 Posts: 1249 Rating: (115)	maybe your RS485 is not properly installed. check: - if all devices have the same baudrate for port C - check if you have terminator resistors (120 ohms) only at both ends of the RS485 line - be sure that the RS485/232 is in one end of the RS485 and with the resistor - be sure that you have only one single line with siprotecs - first device to second, second to third and so on, without derivations
