Hello to all!

I have problems of communication via CP5511 for Profibus DP, with a notebook. Is a new installation, with the follows features:

- Windows XP SP2
- PCS7 V6.1+SP2
- Step7 V5.4+SP5
- PDM V6.0+SP3

Into window 'Set PG/PC Interface', I select interface 'CP551(Auto)/Properties/Start Network Detection', where I get the follow message:

'The bus parameters could not be determined because a communication error occurred. Check the installation of the interface and the cabling.'

Using the option 'CP5511(PROFIBUS)/Diagnostics/Test', where I get the follows messages:

'Error 0x0320: DLL/VxD not found as file or device not active'

'Error: configuration invalid'

I don't know which are the 'dll' or 'vxd' files missing. In the documentation about the error '0x0320' this files no are specified.

Also I found something about of the Step7 version, but I have another installation, with same configuration of softwares, working normally.

I found several similar cases about this problems in forum, but no solid solutions.

I already follow previously this instructions, but no sucess. The files with problem are described as *.dll and *.vxd, but I don't know which are this files exactly. In a post I find mention of the the following files:

- S7EPMPIB.DLL
- S7EPMPIX.DLL
- DIAGDISB.DLL
- DIAGDISP.DLL
- C5511W2K.SYS

The user suggested overwrite this files by files of the Step7 old version, but no sucess also.

Really, may be better reinstall the Step7. I go try this, but may be with a old version, I don't know.

Most probably there is a problem with PCS7 and Step7. And the probelm is above mentioned files - you'll find them twice.Try with search in your PC and after follow the instructions from http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/22662185 . If I were you, I would try with reinstall the Step7.

You receive this message because you are not connected to the profibus/mpi network. Or there is profibus/mpi wiring problem. Check end resistence on the profibus/mpi network.
