Hi all, Iam using a configuration where I am communicating with the Vatron unit Model no: Arcos Ultralight, it is using a 3964Rcommunication protocol. I am using CPU 313C 2DP with CP341 RS232C card to talk with Arcos Ultralight. Arcos unit is basically controlling electrode regulationin ladle refining furnace. If anybody has used this type of configuration then guidanceand kind concernin this regards would be highly appreciable. Need to know if someone has the GSD of Arcos ultralight as I need to put it in my Hardware configuration. I have also attached the hardware configuration for the referral and validation... Thanks in advance, With regards, S7Mgr Attachmentconfig.pdf (253 Downloads) |

Hello S7Mgr; The 3964R protocol is available on the CP341 without additional purchase. You need to have the parametrization software for the CP341 installed on the programming computer to be able to select this protocol (it is available on the accompanying CD or downloadable from the Siemens support website). You use standard FB7/FB8 function blocks to send/recieve telegrams over a RS-232 connection ( FBs also available in the Block libraries when you install the parametrization software). In the meantime, here are some links you might find useful: Manual for CP341 communications: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/1117397 Detailed info on 3964R protocol (FAQ): http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/27073039Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
