Communication with CP342-5 using DP_SEND

Corb Posts: 12 Rating: (1)	Dear all, I would like opinion of the community about this problem. I searched allready in forum for a similar question but i didn't found. My Hardware configuration in the main closet is: - CPU 312 1AE14 - 0AB0 - 2 input card 6ES7 321 0AA0 - 2 output card 6ES7 322 0AA0 - 1 CP 342 - 5 ( 6GK7 342-5DA02- 0XE0) Distant configuration/remote config: 2 ET200S with the identic configuration, 6 output card each and on profibus via CP342-5. (6ES7 151 1AA05 - 0AB0 + 2x6ES7 138 4CA01 + 6x 6ES7 132 4BF00-0AA0) see picture attached. - Configuration is running, no red led, in Run, just the both ET200S are in "grey" ? - In OB1 i call FC1 "DP_SEND" to communicate with the both ET200S and in the STAUS word i have the value "8180" when DONE=1 This means CPU on Stop or no settings. If I am not wrong, the greyed symbol means, there is no more detailed diagnostic. Corb - In OB1 i call FC1 "DP_SEND" to communicate with the both ET200S and in the STAUS word i have the value "8180" when DONE=1 This means CPU on Stop or no settings. Are you sure that these valueswhere returned from the functionin the same cycle? I think this constalation is not documented. Is the CP in run? Hint: Make the diagnostic of the CP with the NCM tool! There you will find a lot of infomration and diagnostic functions!

Corb Posts: 12 Rating: (1)	Thanx garfield for your answer So i checked the NCM tool online because my CP is RUN I did allready before but this time i checked more carefuly. In the part "Profibus/nodes" my 2 slaves are "passives" and my master "ative" In the part "DP master" DP status is Run and for the both slaves ET200 all modules exists and are OK. It's written too that for both slaves they are polled by its own master. In the part "Operating mode" i saw that the FDL Connetions are in Stop beause it's not Configured So i think that i have to CheCk out in Netpro and to Create one FDL Link. What u think?

What u think? Definetely NOdear Corb (FDL is for PLC-PLC communication, you are doing Profibus DP communication). May I suggest that you have anothercareful read ofthelink that Wizardprovided you withand also check the following two links: CP 342-5 -- How do you program data communications when your DP slave only has outputs?(I presume this the case as you have not mentioned any DP_RECV calls?). Which version of the function blocks do you need to operate a CP 342-5? I hope this helps (if it doesn't, please upload your S7 project here for evaluation).

Chilly_Garfield Posts: 316 Rating: (37)	What Input and Output addresses do the slaves have? E.g. if you one slave hav the addressarea OD10 you have to send 14 Bytes ( 0 until 10+3 Bytes) with the DP_SEND!!!
