Communication with new CPU315 (6ES7 315-2EH14)

Thomas_30 Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have a problem with the new CPU 315. Normally it is totally compatible with old program but when i use the FB64 'TRCV' from siemens library, the FB doesn't work, always the RET_VAL is 80F7(hex). The other function block 'TSEND', 'TCON' and 'TDISCON' work perfectly. I use these function block to realize a open TCP/IP communication with a computer. Thanks for your help. Thomas

Thomas_30 Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hello, Itry with old version V2.0 of 'TRCV' and with last version V2.2, from siemens library. I have the same result, error code 807F. But if I change the CPU by an older 315 (6ES7 2EH13 ...) the program is working.

Thomas_30 Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hi, I know this problem with temporary variables. The 'TRCV' block is called in a function block FB89, all variables are defined in the instance of the FB89. I make other test: if computer doesn't respond, CPU is waiting. Dice the PC sends something, 'TRCV' returns a fault. Behnam: my CPU have the last firmware, we bought it in October. Today i will try to test with a CP343-1 to be sure because it is not easy to program just OB1 and call the function in it. Is it possible to have a hardware problem only on receive?

Your problem is indeed a bitstrange and I'd say you have done your "homework" very thoroughly. I suggest you raise a Support Request with Siemens and provide them with the gathered information (my money is on an "undocumented feature" of the firmware). Should you feel like doing more "homework" though, I think the following may be worthwhile testing: 1.) Assuming you use TCP, try "Ad-hoc" (LEN parameter 0) as well a fixed lenght mode(LEN parameter <>0) 2.) Try the other Ethernet port of theCPU(I know this shouldn't matter, but its a quick and easy test). 3.) Please check again the RET_VAL (your first entry says its 80F7 and the second says its807F). This is just to make sure you give Siemens the correct information, it is either way a "specific error code" that we can't determine further as TRCV uses SFC136 inside for which no help exists. That's all I can think of, good luck and please let us know about the outcome and/or feedback from the Support request.

Thomas_30 Posts: 7 Rating: (0)	Hello After many test we understand that the problem occurs when we use STRING variable as receiving data. If we use ARRAY of BYTE all is ok and communication works perfectly. I don't understand why the program doesn't work with new generation of PLC May be a future new firmware will correct this problem Thanks for your help. Bye
