Communication with PC

Maximus Posts: 21 Rating: (0)	hi all i m using simocode-dp starter for the first time. i have installed Win-SIMOCODE-DP on my PC. I also have PC adapter for communication. But still m unable to communicate my PC with numerical relay type no 3UF5011-3AN10-1. can anybody tell me how to make it online with PC either thru DP or RS232 interface. Also give me cable configuration if any. m in urgent need as m on site. thanx

UMENCHO Diamond Member Joined: 3/21/2006 Last visit: 3/2/2023 Posts: 10221 Rating: (1175)	Hello, So, via Profibus is necessary tofollowing settings have to be carried out in the window 'Properties' of the dialog 'Set PG/PC Interface' : 1) if, besides the PG/PC, also a PLC (= Master Class 1) is connected, the parameter 'PG/PC is the only master on the bus' must not be activated. if the PG/PC is connected by itself only, then one has to activate the parameter 'PG/PC is the only master on the bus'. 2) The baudrate (network parameters) shall comply with the baudrate setting of the Simocode-DP device. With serial connection direct to the system interface from the Simocode DP. For this connection you need the PC-Cable between the PC (COM-Port)and the Simcode DP. Ordenumber of this cable: 3RW29 20-1DA00 Pinassignment PC-cable ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 9-pole Sub-D Stecker Pin 5on Simocode -Pin 5on PC Pin 3on Simocode -Pin 2on PC Pin 2on Simocode -Pin 3on PC linkbetween 4and 6,also 7and 8on PC shildon Pin 1of Simocodeandon Pin 1 ofPC ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2. With an Profibus cable to the profibus port. For this function you need an PC with an installed profibus card from siemens. For more details pls read the manual of the used profibus card. As profibus card you could use the CP5611, CP5613, CP5512. For this connection you need the software Win Simocode DP Professional.
