Communication with Schnieder PLC on ethernet

I have an H-system PLC with CPU 414-4H PLC with two set of CP 443-1 cards for fault-tolerant system and want to communicate with a Schnieder PLC (CPU-11303 with ethernet card-NOE77101) which also is a hot-standby system. From the links in the forum I have learned that OPEN MODBUS on TCP/IP is one option, but I cannot use this for now. So, I have the following questions: Is it possible to use TCP/IP native protocol with T-blocks of Open communication via industrial ethernetand program for the redundancy between the connections ? Does CPU 414-4H support this. If yes, what needs to be done in the partners end. Plz let me know if there is a better option. Regards, Poker

I do not think that it is a smart way to use T-blocks with the CP, AG_SEND / AG_RECEIVE is more useable... but it is up to you. The main issue is that TCP/IP does not support redundancy. The S7 only supportsS7-H-Communication natively. MODBUS TCP implements the H-functionality within theyre blocks. So if you plan on programming the redundancy with your T-blocks or AG_SEND/ AG_RECEIVE this is up to you. 2. Does CPU 414-4H support this. As you see in my first answer, this is not a supported feature. If you insist on this function, you have to generate it. 3. If yes, what needs to be done in the partners end. See the above answers. mzunigat Posts: 16 Rating: (0)	Dear: only do you need used the Open modbus for H system. please follow the next link http://www.industry.siemens.com/industrial-services/it/en/products/simatic_add_ons/s7_open_modbus_tcp.htm MODBUS block with redundancy functionality This MODBUS version is applicable to SIMATIC S7 400H systems. A CP443-1 is additionally required for every subsystem for the MODBUS communication. Good Lucky.
