Hi,

I am working as well in a communication with a Sick 2D laser Sensor LRS3600, 

What i am doing so far is to follow the example for "TCP native" and the related manuals (Open TCP Communication via industrial Ethernet).

I cannot achieve that FB65 "TCON" connect with the sensor. The messages are always the same error code:7000. 

I generate the communication parameters with the wizard provided and changing the communication type to: "TCP Compatibility Mode" B#16#11. The CPU ia m using is the CPU317F V3.2

I have assigned to the sensor, for the ethernet comms, ID number=1, port 2112 to exchange data in binary, and IP address 10.0.0.190. On the other hand, the PLC is setup with IP address 10.0.0.11 and Id 2 (according to the hardware configuratuion, slot of the PN-IO in X2).

I am completly stack, the communication is not even starting!!

Please I would need help!!

Thank you very much for the answer,

I have tried using the Sopas (Sick firmware) as it has a terminal to send telegrams in Binary or ASCII.

I manage to send some messages from the PC to the Sensor successfully.(getting proper answer from the sensor according to manual)

My problem is still  there when i try to build the communication between the sensor and the PLC (CPU317F).

Using the wizard I made this configuration:

Siemens side:

IP= 10.0.0.11

Port: 2000 (default port)

ID = 2

Sick sensor side:

IP: 10.0.0.190

Port: 2112 ( port specified in Sopas software for ASCII or Binary, ColaA or ColaB)

ID = 1 (assigned via Sopas software to the device)

Apart from this I have configured the CPU ethernet port to be full-duplex 100Mb/s to match with the sensor ethernet requirement.

The error code I get from the TCON block (FB65) is 7000 that only indicates that the connection is not achieve but nothing else.

Could somenone help me?

Finally I manage to communicate with the sensor, following your advice I tried first with hyperterminal and then having a look carefully to the error codes.

It seems to work fine!!
