Communications of 400H, CP LED flash frequency !!

AnproScott Advanced Member Joined: 5/31/2007 Last visit: 4/24/2020 Posts: 90 Rating: (2)	My men： I have a 400H system and Ethernet connections follwing： built 18 connections for Rack0 to 300 CPUs(clock req to send is 1.6 seconds in period) and built 18 connections for Rack1 to 300 CPUs(clock req to send is 1.6 seconds in period) My trouble is that：Whatever MSTR is switched to Rack0 or Rack1, The CP 443-1 on Rack1,LEDs(T×D、R×D) flash frequency are always looks much slower than LEDs of the CP443-1 on Rack0. So 1.Anyone knows what causes the situation? 2.Anyone met this problem and how to solve this problem? File Attachment. Attachment 400H_PICTURES.zip (59 Downloads)

Is there any trouble with the communication itself ? Normally the first setup connections are on a certain CP and stays there until that is not working anymore. You may switch off the power ofthesystem where the CP-LED are blinking faster then the other one. Wait a 30 seconds until all the connections are to the other CP and then switch on the other PS again. What happens then ?

After thefollowing situation switching, the Ethernet communicationis no problem, the communication functionis ok.The communication switching is decided by MSTR system bit : 1. MSTR switch from Rack 0 to Rack 1 2. MSTR switch from Rack1 to Rack 0 But my client is so confused and curious abuot that : No matter the MSTR is in Rack 0 or Rack 1,the TxD/RxD LEDsof CP in Rack 1 are always blinkingin slower speedthan the CP's LEDsin Rack 0, and the transmission(Send/Receive data)speed isalso slower. Andmy clientis a little unsatisfiedwith the result, I don'tknow how to convince him. Thanks for your reply.

So I wonder as you use about 10 ISO on TCP Connections and 7 to 8 S7-Connections and you said that the Communication seems to be fine... what type of Telegramms (amounts) do you expect on each communication and how does the communication on the wire look like? Can you do any monitoring with a tool like Wireshark? Best regards J_Bell

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (411)	Dear SexDriver, what I would do is checking if the AG_SEND / AG_RECV Functions used in the Rack 1 System show any problems or faults in the process... maybe you can add some lines to the program to see if the Communication takes more time in this rack than in the first one. As the SEND/RECEIVE Communication is not made for the Redundant system it may be a problem.. but it should work if you have configured S/R Connections on each single System... but be aware that you need two Connections for each S7-300 than. The only other way would be to use Send / Receive Connections the way you use them... but I would be very carefully in this because you will have to care about the Connections on both sides. So the S7-300 has to care which Connection is used right now... an the S7-400 has to care if the Communcationpartner is responding on the Connection the S7-400 is triing to send about. In normally, the S7-H-communication is used for automatic redundancy Communication to SCADA like WinCC or iFix ,right? 2. Yeah, you are definitely right. I think the way is really complex and to make mistakes easily if you are not carefully enough, eapecially when the connection numbers are large!
