We have installed a S7-1515 in the network, where a bunch of S7-300/s7-400 system are connected, and wincc can talk with, without any problem.

Is there a way to get WinCC to "talk profinet" with this 1500-system?

WinCC V7.3 Upd 9.

The 1500 system is setup as the attached picture.

There is a possiblity that the switch only allows profinet communications, but no one are 100% sure.

We have tried that way, it worked fine at office.

But at customers place, they have switches, and on the port they have connected the PLC to, is profinet only, so wincc says that the plc is disconnected with the error "No real hardware connected" (or similar text).

After talking with the Siemens support over the phone yesterday, we concluded that wincc cannot talk profinet it seems.

So our customer has to either force the IT department to reconfigure the port, so it all works thru the switch, or buy a new Cp card for the 1500 cpu to talk over ehternet with wincc.
