Compare different versions of wincc project

f_bman Posts: 15 Rating: (2)	Hello all, I have searched forum, faq and manual with no luck... I'm trying to find out a way to track changes in a wincc project. Is it any chance that it could be as easy as in Step7 to compare functions or like using Simatic VXM? The only way I can find out is to check timestamps for scripts and pictures, and then maybe print them out to manually check what changes has been done. To clarify - I have a project at the customer that can and probably will be small fixes in. My job is to see if the changes follows a guideline. It could be a hard work if I have to check all scripts and all pictures manually. best regards Fredrik Beckman

Phantom75 Posts: 2661 Rating: (279)	Why not use the Windows search functionality (advanced) if you know when the last update was? The other option is to use the file compare utilities available in the market...

f_bman Posts: 15 Rating: (2)	Hi, Fred - I seriously don't think it's such a good idea to use a file compair to track changes in wincc. If it is a PDL-file you can see if the date differs, or the size, but you can't see what in the picture that has changed, for example if you change a script in a graphic object. So no - this is a really old thread - I still can't see any third party products out on the market in the way Phantom suggests that will meet my requests. The option Yolov suggests seem to be more relevant, even though I can't see in the description in the link if there are any compair-tools included. It seems to be a good tool, but if you don't add any comments etc to what you have done in the winccproject, there will be no way to see exactly what changes that has been done. But you can roll back to a safe version. It isn't exactly what I asked for, but it seems to be kind of a compromise. regards Fredrik

The winCC flex help menu and the online catalog does not say much about it. Have you Gents used this tool. I havent because I do not even have a trial license. Cheers Fred
