AutoGen_4333324 Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Dear Experts, This topic to ask a confirmation about full compatibility of DP/ASI link between the old product 6GK1 415-2AA01 (ASI V2.1) and the new one 6GK1 415-2AA10 (ASI V3.0) delivered in 2009. The customer software is PCS7 V7.0 SP2, and the only GSD available is 6GK1 415-2AA01 under DP/ASi link V3.0 (see in attachment). The 2x CFC blocks used are one for diagnostic and one to control 4DI/4DO of ASi slaves, and these blocks has no drivers connection generated by pcs7 (only need to put manually profibus adress for the gateway, and I/O adress to identify the ASI slave). My question is to confirm if i can use the new hardware 6GK1 415-2AA10 by using the previous GSD 6GK1 415-2AA01 without any problems. Thanks a lot for your feedback. Although it is not explicitly , From this FAQ,seems to suggest that you can replace V2.x with V3.0. (old gsd with new product) Else i found this link : https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/32594166/delivery-release%3A-dp-as-interface-link-20e-acc-to-as-i-v3-0-%286gk1-415-2aa10%29?dti=0&lc=en-WW with this explaination : unknown user Indications for the product family: The innovated version of the Link 20E (according to AS-i Specification V3.0, order number 6GK1 415-2AA10) replaces the previous DP/AS-Interface Link 20E (according to AS-i Specification V2.11, order number 6GK1 415-2AA01) in the mid term by 06/2009 in a spare part-compatible manner. The innovated version of the Link 20E is functionally downward-compatible with the previous Link 20E. In addition, AS-i slaves according to AS-I Specification V3.0 are supported. The configuration remains unchanged: In STEP 7 HWConfig via the hardware catalog entry "DP/AS-i Link 20E Product Version 3" or in third-party systems via the GSD files for 6GK1415 2AA01. (The fourth output of an A/B slave with 4DI/4DO can only be addressed via the GSD file under STEP7 V5.4 SP4.) Accordin theses notes, 2AA10 looks 100% compatible with 2AA01, but i really would have an opinion of somebody which test that in reality before to buy this hardware ... Thanks a lot !

Hello We did change the module but we also changed it in the Hardware Configuration of the S7-300 with the new GSD and downloaded to CPU. It has been working fine since then. I think this is the safest way to go about it. Although , it seems it would work with the Old GSD, but why take a chance. However if you want an authentic confirmation, you can raise a Support request. Cheers Navnag

AutoGen_4333324 Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hello, Thx for reply Navnag. I have just got confirmation by support tech. of Siemens that is compatible with old gsd (V3 like in screen shot). Also confirmed by my customer who have used the new DP/ASi recently. Then all is ok ! Hope this feedback can help. Bye
