compatibility of fail safe CPU with Standard signal modules

medommido Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi all, I've S7-1200 Rack and the old configurtaion was : ( SIMATIC NET CSM-1277 , CPU 1214C DC/DC/Relay , SM-1223DC/DC , SM-1231AI , SM-1232AO ). Now, I've to change the CPU with a new one of this fail safe model " CPU 1214FC DC/DC/Relay" as this CPU is the only spare part that I've . is this fail safe processor compatible with above old mentioned signal modules ? or it must work with fail safe signal modules ? secondly, if it's OK any other changes should be done in TIA portal rather than changing HW Configuration so that I can download the old logic?

For example, if in the project your old CPU is of FW 1.0, you need to change it first to FW2.0/FW3.0 and then you can select an F-CPU of FW4.x.
