What do you mean by "breaking the bank"? Are you trying to suggest the reason you have been using v13 is because you are using a license key that didn't break the bank (like downloaded from an online key resource other than Siemens)? You may find legitimate v14 / v15 / v16 / v17 licenses from reputable sources. V18 is the currently available license from Siemens - which works for every version of Portal from V18 and prior. Also, you can use a portal trial install for up to 21 days with the provided trial license.

No, everything is legitimate. I got my PLC as a starter kit with a floating license. What I meant by "breaking the bank" was that I saw somewhere on this forum that upgrading to a different software version costs money. I probably need to look into the option of upgrading, but anyway thank you very much for your help. |

You may want to consider an SUS license for your portal software package. It allows you to keep fully up to date at a manageable price. Skipping several versions is generally a cost comparable substitute. Glad you took no offense as none was intended by the questions.
