Complete backup of sinumerik 840D

Marko_marac Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hello! We have 26 Heller'swith sinumerik 840D (on windows XP or NT4). I have to make complete backup of these machnes (HMI, NCU (NC and PLC)). I'am completely new with sinumerik soI took Heller's manuals (control, programming, operating, maintenance) to find section about Data save or System back up or similar, but I couldnt find anything useful. At first, I thouht that I can perform disk image with Acronis software, but from what I can read at this forum it is not advisable. You can see now what is my problem. Any instructions like manual or advice would be helpful. Thx, Marko

_Marcus Posts: 56 Rating: (5)	Hello Marko_marac, you can create a backup with Ghost (Norton). To get the image file you can take out the disk, like Karl described, or you can connect the machine via network. The Ghost software is already on the 840D disk, so you can use it on the pc also. To create a complet backup you have to archive NC and PLC first. Both files are stored on the disk, so the files will be saved with the backup. Documentation to all sinumerik questions you will find at doconweb (search with google). In this case search for Gost. Good luck Marcus
